Questions About Call Of Duty 4

I have a few questions about Call Of Duty 4.1.) Does it run on windows XP? (I don't have vista and I don't want it)2.) What makes it rated ''M''? The other Call of duty games were all rated ''T''. I am a big fan of COD but I can't play this one because of a stupid house rule that restricts ''M'' rated games in my home. I have to wait until I am 18 next year. So is there anything so horrible that made it get that ''M'' rating?3.) Can you turn off anything that makes it rated ''M''? If so, there is a very small possibility of me being able to play it.Questions About Call Of Duty 4
1) Yest, it does run on XP.2) Best I can tell, the only thing that makes it rated M is violence. There might be some bad language used in the campaign, but I don't remember anything too terrible. 3) Don't think so. You might be able to turn off blood, maybe.Questions About Call Of Duty 4
If you were permitted to play the other COD this isnt any worse. I'd say its the violence and some swear words in the single player campaign nothing you probably don'y hear at school anyways! just my thoughts. ANd im almost positive you can turn blood off just as in the others.
u can turn of gore i think. i have an amd 64 3800+ single core, 1gig ddr3200 400mhz ram, and 256mb 7600gt and i can play it at 30+ fps on 1280X1024 medium-low. u could of course just download it o.O the ful version i mean
I just got it and I have to say the game is good optimized, I play it at max settings no AA and 1280x1024 with E6750 and 8800GTS 320
Well im finally glad that some parents arnt just buying their kids rated M games,

But I am not a deceitful person, if my parents say no, then it's no. I will be able to make my own choices after my birthday, but even then my parents might not let it in the house because the house rule might stand as long as I live here, despite my age. To be honest, the only thing close to an''M'' ratedgame I ever played was a Killzone demo that was rated ''RP'' at the time. I obey my parents, altough not having the choice of whether or not to play COD 4 makes me angry because I am such a big fan of the series.
Well that's good that you are not going behind your parents' backs. I just want to clarify that I wasn't recommending that you should, I was just wondering if 17 is the age where you live too.

You do have to be 17 where I am to purchase an ''M'' rated game.
I say you go behind your parents back and become a deceitful person, you will get further in life this way.
can't you buy if you're 17? well im 21 and I was over 17 when I got into PC games so that was never a factor.
first of all you only have to be 17 to buy M rated games. second of all you really went 17 years without playing M rated games? you poor bastard. the next time I pray (which, believe me, wont be for a long time) I will think of people like you. people who dont get the cohones to get the game cuz of stupid rules.
I say you go behind your parents back and become a deceitful person, you will get further in life this way.
No, being deceitful may gain you pleasure for a limited time, but in the long run it will get you nowhere. My parents at least care enough to make rules like this, and I respect them. Even when I don't like a rule, I will still follow it. It's called honesty, it gets you somewhere, and sets yourself to be a good role model for younger kids.
first of all you only have to be 17 to buy M rated games. second of all you really went 17 years without playing M rated games? you poor b*****d. the next time I pray (which, believe me, wont be for a long time) I will think of people like you. people who dont get the cohones to get the game cuz of stupid rules.
As I said to whitesnake, I respect my parents, if they give me a rule I will follow it. Being honest pays off. I have had experiences where I found myself lying and going against my parents, and all it brought me was guilt. And for the part where you said ''second of all you really went 17 years without playing M rated games? you poor ba***rd.'' I am 17 and most of the games throughout the nineties were either not rated, or were rated ''E'' ''T'' and ''KA''. So I was not missing out on anything much anyway. Now I feel I am missing out on games like Gears Of War, Halo, and Call Of Duty 4, but despite this feeling of ''missing out'' on games,I will follow the rules and remain guiltless of dishonoring my parents.
its level of violence is probably the same as in other COD games...so not that high....what gives it the M rating is probably that whole execution scene in the game.
I guess part of being rated M is also because that it's modern warfare, potraying the war currently going on in Iraq right now. I don't know if you can see what I'm getting at or not...
It's rated M because the ESRB is under a lot of political and commercial pressure to be tougher on games. If you've played the rest of the CoD games, you've already seen the same level of violence. Additionally, blood is most usually an option that can be toggled on or off. I think if you make that case with your parents, they MIGHT see where you're coming from.
I just want to point out that COD4 also has images that may be disturbing to some people. People who have played the game know what I'm talking about.
nice to see a mature, well-brought up kid on the internet that keeps his composurecod 4 is basically the same level of violence, maybe some cursing i don't remember. nothing you haven't seen before in previous cod games. i remember the days when i was younger and unable to play violent video games so i understand. :]
Dang that sux about the house rule. I remember those back in the day :D Anyway I hope you can try it out soon.
