Coolest Effects in gameplay ever?

I was just wondering what game you guys think has the coolest ingame effects. i'm not only talking about graphics. i mean the feeling. like Huge amounts of units being slaughtered or amazing magic-effects.For example:Total war series: watching thousands upon thousands of soldiers charging and then clashing together to the sound of screams and metal.Mount %26 Blade: Watching your heavy knights riding past you, charging the enemy through a rain of arrows, leaving only a dustcloud as they tear through the enemy.Rise of Legends: Watching massive armies clashing with two heroes in the middle slaughtering anyone that comes near. or watching a King Levithan bursting from the ground in a huge cloud and eradicating entire armies. It's not perfect examples, but i hope you get the point. Those times that you would have given anything to have someone to share the experience with. Those that leaves you fumbling for words in order to describe just how awesome what you just saw was. Effects better than any movie ever made.Coolest Effects in gameplay ever?
Crysis: On one of the levels, there is a large scale battle. It was amazing watch you in your tank (Or on foot ) with other tanks rushing at the enemies, jets flying overhead, helicopters dropping off troops, RPGS flying everywhere. It was amazing.

Dawn of war 2: ....3VS3.

Nuff said.Coolest Effects in gameplay ever?
Rome Total War- thousands of soldiers fighting is just epicCOD4- the nuke was pretty impressive
Half-Life 2 - Episode 2: When buildings are destroyed in an amazing physics simulation.

Bioshock: Getting to see Rapture for the first time and when there are lots of water leaks.
Total War, of course - it's simply epic to watch thousands of men charging, with arrows and rocks raining down everywhere.I also quite like it in Hell's Highway or Fallout 3 - watching people's body parts get blown off in slow-motion.
The water and explosions in Crysis just make my jaw-drop.
Far Cry 2 - Shooting a gasoline cannister, only to catch the nearby grass on fire and watch as everything is engulfed in a matter of seconds, with the wind blowing the smoke and fire. Most beautiful fire effects in a game yet, by far.
Every combat scene in the original F.E.A.R.
Supreme Commander - Watching a spiderbot just walking through your base, destroying everything. It's depressing when you've spent so much time building up your base (although I ALWAYS build a back-up somewhere) but it's beautiful to watch.

Too bad my laptop only can handle lowest settings:(

I think by Coolest Effects you mean Coolest Moments. Anyway....EFFECTS:1. Running camera in ''Gears of War''.2. Bullet time effect in ''F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin''.3. Water effect in ''Crysis''..MOMENTS:1. Charging moment at the beginning of the Russian campaign in ''Call of Duty''.2. Running away with Captain Macmillan in ''Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare''.3. Chasing after the party guy, Abu'l Nuqoud and assassinating him in ''Assassin's Creed''.
There are too many cool effects to point just one, but throwing out a few I remmeber currently :-

1. NWN 2 : MotB - I found it really cool when you casted a high power destruction spell where the meteors would fall off the sky and start hitting everything so hart it appeared the ground starts shaking

2. SS 2 - The sound effects in that game were really amazing

3. Myth 2 : The dwarf's cocktail changed the landscape and put a permanent dent on it and dismembered any units inot many piece. this effect was pretty cool after a large battle where the whole land would dented black and will have body parts and blood all around etc
Agree with the OP about Mount %26 Blade - great feeling riding into battle with loads of Swadian knights. Targeting a city in Arma with an ICBM and watching the mushroom cloud was pretty darn cool.
I stopped reading after Mount %26 Blade. The ones who know the situation between me and that cursed game will understand.......*cough*Crysis has plenty cool effects*cough*.
I'd say, Company of Heroes and WiC have some really good in game effects...like nukes going off and explosions with bodies flying everywhere in COH.

Hellz yeah xD

Another SupCom effect that is brilliant is watching a Colossus face off against a small army.
Too many to list so i'm only gonna list a few of my Favorite's-Pretty much anything from TotalWars. The Sieges, and Army of Thousands Fighting it out.
( Especially if the Army is of the Teutonic Order. Teutonic Knights are just downright Badass! my favorite faction from Medival II.)-Allot of Crysis Explosion Effects are Epic as well, like this Plasma Explosion, Custom Nuke, Custom Nuke2, Crysis Physics Destruction.
I know its not out yet but Diablo 3 is up there. From the visual/sound effects and music, this game jsut gets it.
Half-Life 2: Episode 2 - Portal storm and collapsing bridge.
