Which DL site? (steam, impulse, etc.)

I've never used Steam or Impulse or the like, but I want to get Braid so I need to choose which site to go with. What's the difference?Which DL site? (steam, impulse, etc.)
Steam is a program you download to your computor and you use the program to download and play the games. I don't know much about impulse.Which DL site? (steam, impulse, etc.)
Steam, Impulse, Direct2Drive - all of them are good. Go for the site which has best price. :)

And now, with Impulse Anywhere, you don't need to actually download impulse.

Give steam a shot, it's has a huge community and ton of games.
For Braid I would go with Impulse.
Thanks guys. So I guess there's not really any difference between the different companies, other than some variation in how you download the games? Looks like I'll go with impulse. I would rather download just the game, versus having to download a downloading client. :P
