Why is the fallout 3 box so big O.o

i just got fallout 3....and i'm wondering if they forgot to put something in the box....its got the manual and the game....but the game is in, like, a huge recess that looks like ten other discs could be on top of it....Why is the fallout 3 box so big O.o

oh.....yea, i'm kinda new to pc gaming. i only built my first pc in december, and my old computer was so bad it could barely run half life 1
A lot of PC games are now using the smaller DVD cases.
Yeah for the last fourish years companies have been using these ugly, bulky and wasteful boxes like that. However, more and more games are being put into DVD sized cases, which is a plus.

It just seems funny because people have been wondering why the larger/wider boxes for quite some time now.It's only most recently that most PC games seem to be packaged in the smaller/slim DVD sized cases. It's kind of nice because for a while, I was buying the Euro/UK version of games whenever reasonably possible --- they have been using the DVD-sized cases longer.

yea, my copy of crysis and crysis warhead are normal dvd box size

dammit i thought digital distribution was bad enough then they shrunk my nice big dvd cases to regular dvd cases :(



i say bring back the massive dues ex cardboard box cases!!! :D

(since you didn't really get into PC gaming til december)If you had bought your (US) copy in '07 when it was released or shortly after, it'd most likely be in the wider case (mine is). From it's initial release, Warhead has always been in the slimmer case afaik.
