So i just went out and purchased the game demigod thinking it would be an alright dota clone. Boy was i wrong! This is a fantastic game which incorporates strategy, rpg, and dota games all into one. The basic premise of the game is u pick a hero, get items, and kill other heros until u kill their citadel. You only control one hero, so the main focus is to keep him alive. The action and gameplay is fast and smooth, the graphics are clean and crisp, and the game runs very smoothly on a halfway decent machine. For those thinking its just a dota clone it adds alot more features to make it different, like the ability to upgrade your citadel with new creeps or armor. Battles Usually last longer and the actual fights seem more like an action rpg game then a strategy point and click game. For example healing heros and putting armor shields on them is easier to do, and makes the game feel more like a team game. Anyways i decided to make this post because im unsure if gamestop or ign will give this game justice in reviews. Please do yourself a favor and try this game out, its definetly worth it. (not to mention if the game does well the developers will add more demigods and features for up to a year for free)New game, Demigod wow!
what's demigod even about ?New game, Demigod wow!
Looks like a pretty pathetic excuse for a strategy game to me; I won't bebuying.
what's demigod even about ?
link for the spoiled.
thanks _Pedro_
the game is about a pantheon with a fallen god, you have to choose a demigod to replace the god. The story is somewhat lame and the single player experience is lame as well. What really shines is the multiplayer game, where u can have up to a 5v5 in a team battle. This game is great for people looking for a multiplayer experience. (to be honest i dont even know the story to well the game was primarly designed for multiplayer kinda like unreal tournament)
Does it play like Kingdom Under Fire on the original xBox? I really enjoyed that type of game.
Its quite fun but no way its worth a full price. Dota is free and has more heroes and better itemisation.
i have never played kingdom of fire, but what it does play like is diablo in a strategy game world.
Ain't free since you need Warcraft 3.Stardock's support makes it worth the full price (only the boxed version is 50 dollars). They'll add new heroes, items and maps. The SP is some sort of tournament, UT 2k4 sty1e. That's OK, it would've been lame if it was UT3 sty1e...
whoa .. the game is out .. i didn't even knew that :( and there is not not a single review for the game
It says on Play.com release on 29th May. I liked the look of this game when I saw a preview a few months ago.
gamestop released the game early (pretty sure they did this against the developers will). The game is suppose to arrive at all stores the 14th (this tuesday)but if u want it early check to see if your local gamestop has it.

I see , I was thinking game was still in beta phase :P. anyways, 14th is pretty close and still no review ... maybe it's a developer embargo
If you pre-ordered Demigod off Impulse STardock if going through the preorders now and activiating them a day early. So they decided to release the game a day early Impulse so the preorders didnt get screwed over to bad by Gamespot. Still anything with the Stardock label I'm commited to buying, hands down the best and most customer friendly developer around and I'll do whatever I can to support them.

well warcraft 3 is extremely cheap these days. I dont trust promises such as ''we'll add new stuff later''. sure... we all saw how many stuff left4dead and dawn of war 2 got so far... If I were you I would wait for some time for the game to come down in price as atm is not really worth it.
I had no idea the game was this close to release :boggle:
Would you recommend this game for a person who like Diablo/TQ type games? I am not really interested in the strategy aspects so much but the rpg parts interest me.
I'll wait for the reviews.
the action and gameplay feels alot like diablo or titans quest. If you enjoyed dueling in diablo then you will enjoy this game alot. There isnt many persistant items in this game so item hunting isnt a main portion like diablo. The main idea of the game is kinda like a fighting game, your in an arena and your goal is to kill the enemy demigods. There is no campaign mode just arena battles, but the game is more deep then just a plain arena, you have hordes of enemies on each side which u can kill to level up and u have defensive structures which u need to bypass to get to the enemy citadel(you need to destroy this to win the game). Each game is a tug of war, where the goal is to push through enemy defenses to get to the citadel, during the match u can capture strategic points to increase your demigods stats. Ingame u also have items and upgrades which u can purchase to make your demigod stronger but these items only last that paticular game, so comming up with a plan for your demigod before hand is smart. The way items work in this game is they increase stats that make a HUGE noticeable difference or the items add a new ability to your hotkeys. So making a demigod stacked for lifesteal would have a tottaly different effect then stacking that same demigod with armor items. The fun part of the game is to come up with your own variation for a demigod and testing them in battle. To get an idea of how some games work, i was in one game where my teammate was a healer and i was a tank, in order for us to get pass a tower i was tanking the tower and the other demigods while my teammate was keeping me healed. This is some of the teamplay you can find during the game (so it does have some mmorpg aspects as well).
Thanks for that, sounds good.
