If i physically own fallout 3, is there a way i can download it off steam?

my local gamestop has fallout 3 on sale for cheaper then steam does, but i'd still like to run the game from steamcould i just buy it and then enter the serial code or product key or something on steam so i can just download it there?If i physically own fallout 3, is there a way i can download it off steam?
No, theres a small list of games that can be activated on steam like that.you could add it as a non steam game into your games list but thats it.If i physically own fallout 3, is there a way i can download it off steam?

|I don't see why you it matters. Just add the shortcut to steam if you want to use it while playing. I don't see any benefit in getting it on steam.
You can try entering the key on Steam by -> Games -> Activate Product.I thought I remember hearing that you could get a game on steam for $5 if you already own the retail version, but that might not be true.

That only works for a few games and like someone earlier said Fallout 3 isn't one of them. There is no such thing as getting a game for 5.00 either.
