Does enabling multicore rendering in tf2 make a difference?

i just enabled it (i have an E8500) and i couldn't see a difference....maybe it was just the server i was on, but it still had the same amount of lag as usual (i imagine that maybe the only lag i ever saw even before was just server lag as opposed to my hardware not being good enough)Does enabling multicore rendering in tf2 make a difference?
Multicore rendering will only help if your CPU is the bottleneck. It's possible that your graphics card is the bottleneck, although with a heavily CPU-dependent game like TF2 this is unlikely. If you want less internet lag, sort your servers in order of ping and filter out any servers with a ping greater than 50.Does enabling multicore rendering in tf2 make a difference?
on my notebook i notice a framerate drop.

disabled it.
As far as I understand it, multicore rendering will only help smooth out your fps. It wont do anything for lag related issues. Personally, I really didn't notice a big change between multicore rendering on or off.
TF2 is more stable overall for me. TF2 would stutter and crash every so often, but it doesn't anymore. I don't notice any performance increase, though.
the only lag i've ever witnessed on tf2 is lag from the server/my internet. my internet is dreadful, but my hardware pwns so i know it's not that. i don't think it will improve performance on anything but maybe lower end multiple core processors, but this is just speculation.
