Still have yet to try Clear Sky, and it makes me sad. Too many games atm. I'm gonna try to pick it up before I start school this fall and all of my free time is sucked away.

It's a great game, but it's more than a little rough around the edges.
I agree on of my all time favorite fps the level of immersion and the great atmosphere along with great gunplay make stalker a blast to play. its also one of the few games i can say that have genuinely scared me. at night in the dark it can be down right terrifying as hordes of mutant dogs and pigs attack you!

Is this game that good? is it like fallout 3?
One of the best games i've ever played on PC...But this thread is pretty useless...
i really enjoyed the first STALKER, although no one really played online and it was hard to run on a mid-high system at the time. I thought it was great, but hated how you had to walk really far. So after beating it I downloaded a mod pack, and it made it a ton better ,but I never got to beat it a second time because so many checkpoitns would crash during loading. I got Clear Sky and it would crash every few minutes even though I had the latest drivers, was getting 70 fps, and my GPU never got hotter than 65C - it was just a horribly buggy game and that's why barely anyone bought it - good concept, but piece of junk
One of the top 5 FPS ever, modded up it gets close to the top. Here's hoping GSC is willing to make the next expansion and the sequeal worthy succesors and aren't just doing what they can to milk the cash cow.
I feel obligated to reply on this thread. Stalker is prob my best single player gaming experience. Up there with Vice City. Though GTA Vice City was good all the time, STALKER was really poor at some moments but really EXTREMELY AMAZING at other moments. It really had gameplay from another kind, that is nowhere else. I can sometimes still hear the background sound effects of the undeground labs and the nuclear plant, best gaming sounds in history. But you have to play it with the oblivion LOST mod, without it the game is just too boring to play....haven't played CS, I dunno why. I think more people have that..More important are there likewise games? Where gunplay in Stalker is actually good and realistic, FO3 combat feels more clunky than a used car lot. Not to mention that Stalker's open world RPG elements, atmosphere, and story are all superior to FO3.A better gage of whether you would like FO3 is if you liked Oblivion which has much more in common with it then Stalker.
