Is the UT3 playerbase gone?

I do not own a gaming PC and I certainly do not have UT3 for my PC; however, I am greatly looking forward to this title for the Xbox 360 which is released on June 30. I have heard recently that a lot of PC gamers were disappointed by this edition to the Unreal Tournament franchise. Is this true? I hope not, because from footage that I have seen UT3 looks like an outstanding game. I understand the lack of a progressive skill system, but is that really necessary if the gameplay that is there is so outstanding? This is coming from one who has not played a UT game, yet; though I do like what I have seen. Could anyone shed some light on this?Is the UT3 playerbase gone?
Well I'm not sure. I still have my UT2004. And I still play the camagin mode on there. I've played the multiplayer one time. I'm planning on getting UT3 for the single player storyline though. Is the UT3 playerbase gone?

My worst purchase of 2007. Sure, it looks great, but the crappy Gamespy online interface is SO bad it's nearly indescribable. Perhaps it wouldn't be so glaring if every UT game that came before it had a better one. What a horrible, horrible decision to cripple the PC version with a crappy console interface.

I thought they changed that with UT3?

I actually really enjoyed the multiplayer component of the Demo, Epic is still good at what they do. The demo didn't use that interface though.....why not just get it through Steam if you hate it that much?
