New to World of Warcraft

So I am about to start playing a little on PC games (already play consoles) and I have a question about WoW which is in the mail. I needed a new laptop for work so I spent a little and got it where I could play a few games (got a ASUS G50vt also in the mail). So with it I ordered WoW battle chest and wanted to know if there are offline quest as well? I understand the whole point is online but at work I wont have high speed (so I'll have to save that for the house). But can I level up a little and play a few quests? I also ordered Crysis (the one coming out in May), fallout 3 and one or two others. These mainly are to take up alot of time. Is it going to be very difficult to get into World of Warcraft without getting massacred? Hope to like PC gaming cause I love my PS3!New to World of Warcraft
